Late Summer Notes
The morning view out of my coffee shop window is vibrant and green. The already hot sun filters through the trees, creating gorgeous light speckles that dance from leaf to leaf. Walkers stroll on past—taking advantage of the riverwalk—iced matchas in hand. Joggers, well, jog—no coffee in hand, but they do have on a weighted vest. If you’re asking me, I’d rather have the matcha.
Here in the south, summer will be squeezed out a little bit longer—like a delightfully zesty lemon that keeps on giving.
But that doesn’t change the fact that September will arrive in a few days, and as everyone knows—September means fall, y’all!
It has been a new summer, in every sense of the word. New location, new house, new school, new friends, new adventures, new discoveries, new memories, new loves.
Summer represents growth, and there’s something that feels right, reassuring even, when life follows that pattern.
A lot was planted in the spring season—ideas, visions, plans, and changes—and summer allowed us to see many of those things blossom.
Growth can feel like harvest, but how delightful it is that we get to experience more abundance in autumn too.
For every season there is a purpose, and autumn, I’m ready to live in yours.
